March 24, 2020. Federal and State agencies have established that outpatient Physical Therapy is considered an essential and life sustaining provider. In addition, the CDC has provided specific guidelines on limitations to the number of individuals gathering together as well as standards of practice to maintain a sanitary environment. West Park Rehab has engaged in a risk vs benefit discussion with all current patients to determine who will continue to be seen at our facility while we adhere to CDC recommendations. Thank you for trusting us to still “Be There For You” in these trying times. We are confident that we will still be able to ease your physical discomfort, reduce your risk of losing mobility and help you maintain your function in your home and community. At the same time, we hope that we will able to ease some of the emotional stress and anxiety that you may be feeling right now.
West Park Rehab will be implementing a TeleHealth program using a HIPPA compliant portal called BlueStream starting next week. This will allow us to maintain important communications with many of those patients who cannot make it into our facility. Please call us today if you would like a TeleHealth visit scheduled with your Therapist. However, you may receive a request from your Physical Therapist next week via text message or email requesting to initiate a consult. If possible, right then, you would need to click on the “agree” button on that screen to begin this consultation. Most video calls will last 15 minutes where your Physical Therapist may ask you to demonstrate certain movements, update your pain status and then instruct you on any modifications or additional exercises for your therapy program. This event will pass, but until then, please adhere to the recommendations provided by our Federal and State agencies. I look forward to the day that we can gather together again and celebrate each other.
